How do I adjust and clean the Accufast KT Tab Sensor? Published: December 3, 2011 UPDATED If you experience tabbing problems on the Accufast KT, tune the sensor for – Also know as a KT Sensor Reset: WARNING DO NOT PLACE FINGERS OR TOOLS BETWEEN OR NEAR MOVING PARTS. 1) Turn the POWER SWITCH off.
2) Remove any tabs and debris from the peel point area through the INSPECTION WINDOW on the input end, below the threading path. CAUTION IF ALL TABS AND DEBRIS ARE NOT REMOVED FROM THE PEEL POINT AREA BEFORE CLEAR TAB IS ACTIVATED, THE SENSOR’S DEFINITION OF CLEAR TABS WILL CHANGE AND CLEAR TABBING WILL BE PREVENTED.
On the product entry side, there is an elongated hole under where the tabs peel off, see below If you look inside the hole, you will see the bottom portion of the sensor. (The black circle in the white plastic, see photo below) Clean it off with some. Also, make sure no tabs are anywhere in the path. If you remove the tabs and look from the exit side, you can see the top portion of the sensor.
In the photo below, look for the rectangle with the nut on it. The sensor is on the bottom of the white housing directed down at the lower sensor.
Once you have this area clean turn the KT back on and, 3) Toggle CLEAR TAB off and wait, a few seconds 4) Toggle CLEAR TAB on. 5) Toggle ON/OFF until a tab advances to the peel point and the TAB READY light illuminates.Your sensor has now been re-calibrated!Another thing to check is to make sure the tabs are threaded correctly!
