Next take the file called game.dat from that folder you extracted and drop it into your game files found at C: Program Files (x86) Electronic Arts The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II. It will ask you to overwrite and you say yes but before you say yes I suggest making a backup copy of your old game.dat first just in case. This should allow you to play without a disc now BUT THIS FIX DOES NOT WORK WITH PATCH 1.00, so keep that in mind in case you want to play that patch. Beginning from where someone just has the basic game at patch 1.00, and then continuing. You didn't say where to get the patch switcher. Now anyone could easily google this, but just as easily download a bunch of viruses and other crap, depending on where they got it. People come to people like you trusting that you can refer them to safe and known download websites for such things. I'll have to go and check some forums somewhere which kind of defeats the purpose of coming to your good self in the first place. I've a few questions, after a good time I not playing i installed both BFME II Special Edition and BFME II ROTWK Expantion.
BFME II is on 1.06 and ROTWK is 2.01. So my Questions: If i patch BFME II to 1.09 would that affect ROTWK? If i also Patch ROTWK to 2.02 would that cause issues with 1.09? I hope you can awnser my questions, till than i wouldn't patch anything yet.

To sum up all the problems I experienced going through installing (hoping it can help you guys) 1. No cd-rom was inserted - the mini dvd-images don't work. This is probably because you're using the wrong version of daemon tools try using wincdemu instead of daemon tools this should take care of the problem [ ] 2. Patch 1.09 is not working? Make sure your version of the game is 1.00 Get the 1.08 patcher then and patch first the 1.06 and then to 1.08.
Open the 1.09 patcher and patch the 1.09 version. It should work now.
For Rise of the witch king: patch 2.01 first and then the 2.02 patch if you get a weird error message when trying to start Rotwk after installing the 2.02 patch then the reason for that is that your main game (not Rotwk) is currently patched. Unpatch it with the patch switcher back to 1.00 and Rotwk should be working then.
